Jerry G Ni, originally from China,  studied/worked/lived in Singapore and UK. after traveled around the world, he had finally made his home in Chicago. Who mainly works with painting. With a conceptual approach, he tries to create works in which the actual event still has to take place or end of dreams: moments evocative of atmosphere and suspense that are not part of a narrative thread.

 

The story unfolds elsewhere while the build- up of tension is following to become the memory of an event that will never take place. Often, he went to the Chinese roots, started working in varied medium, prospect of transforming the tradition into contemporary works.

 

His painting directly responds to the surrounding environment and use everyday experiences from the artist as a starting point. Often these are framed instances that would go unnoticed in their original context, likes to involve the viewer in a way that is sometimes physical and believes in the idea of function following form in a work.

 

His works are given improper function that significations are inversed and form and contact merge. Initially ambiguous meanings are shattered and disseminate endlessly.
